112 Series J fans?

Here is my favorite Savage configuration. Top was made in 1974 in 22-250 but now wears an Eabco {Shaw) 6.5x55 Swede barrel. The bottom was made in 1975 with it's original 220 Swift barrel. Both are true single shots. They can be a real bargain, and I keep a constant eye out for this model.

Very nice! My first Savage looked just like your swift. Only mine was a 22-250. Action had so many rounds thru it that it was about the smoothest cycling Savage I’ve ever owned! I no longer have it but I do keep an eye out for them at gun shows and auctions.

Ahh, the Savage 112 Series J. One of the classics! It was unique, being it and the model 112 Magnum Target were the only two NON-hooded, open ejection port style, single shot Actions Savage made. The Series 112 series J was a handsome rifle indeed. Your two definitely are lookers!

Great choice going with 6.5 Swede. It was introduced in a time when black powder was still being used. Very advanced for its time, and still holds its own incredibly well compared to any modern cartridge! Hard to believe it was introduced in 1891! I came so close to going with it as my 6.5mm/.264 choice. However, I specifically wanted a Short Action, so 260 Rem (now 260AI), won out. Although I’m still super fond of 6.5 Swede.
