Hello all. I am on a lot of forums as I like so many brands and types of firearms and knives. I have a few collectable Savages, but I don't buy based on value. I buy a gun to enjoy looking at, holding, and shooting them. I love the history behind each one. My last purchase was a Model 99 in .250/3000. The gun was made in 1915 and is in very good condition. Another I own is a 340C that my dad bought in the early 1950's. It is a .222. Dad only shot it a few times. Said he shot a fox with it once. He paid $48.95 back in the old "fair trade" law days. He sold it to a gent in a neighboring town. That gent sold it to my godfather in another town. My godfather loaned it to me for a couple years until I could shoot enough fox and coyote to buy my own gun, and then I gave it back to him. I was 16 then, and 65 as of today. Anyway, my godfather passed away and I didn't know what happened to the gun. One day his son called me and asked me to help sell some of his dad's guns. I guess he inherited the guns and his sister inherited a few restored classic cars. (my godfather owned a body shop and was a true craftsman.) I ended up getting to buy the gun back for only $100. This gun loves hot loaded ammo and will actually drive tacks at 100 yards. These are my two favorite Savages, but then I'm not done buying...yet!! Nice to be here folks.

Welcome from Missouri
My neatest Savage was an old 1911? Model 1899 in 303 Savage with an Octagon Barrel and Crescent Butt. It had the best open sights I have ever seen on a factory rifle.
My current savage is a Model 12 Long Range Precision in 6.5CM. It is a Tack Driver.
