Hey all! Renegade here, I have a model 99 in 300 savage, a Henry long ranger in 308, a marlin 30as in 30-30 that I refinished, and a lefevre nitro double barrel in 12gauge. Grabbed my first bear last season with the 99. Mostly here to lurk but possibly will have questions in the future.

Welcome! I come from a long line of Pennsylvania born & bred! From places like Lily, Pa. Although we done branched out. Some of the family up and moved to Missouri, while the bulk migrated to the SouthEast of Pa, then some into Dirty Jersey! (not my father or mother thank The Lord!)

Believe it or not Michaux is one of my main ones! Also hunt up around cross fork area in potter county

I’ve never had any complaints with it. Always shot federal ammo extremely well out of mine, I don’t have the pic any more but I was able to get quarter size groups at 100 yds with 150 grain federals and nickel sized with a custom load a friend worked up. I’m retiring mine tho this year as it was my grandpas and it just has way to much sentimental value to take out. I was able to take a big ( ok…. It was 70lbs) game animal with it so it’s probably going to be a range gun and/great weather hunting gun from here out

Nice. I've been exploring quite a bit of it using OnX in my Jeep.

Went for a ride last week exploring logging roads and came across this traffic stopper just outside Long Pine Run:

The heat is really bringing them out.....watch your step on the rocks!

Rattle snake is good eating. Last one i got. We were camping at kettle creek state park. I fry it in butter.

Out near Fayetteville? That a Timber rattler? Looks like. I’m near Philly. We only have the occasional Copper Head out here.

Not as chunky as you think. They flatten themselves out to soak up as much sun as they can and look wider.

Absolutely! When I was stationed in Southern Cal (NAS Miramar Station Weapons Range/Armory Div) we had it quite often. Snakes were all over the ranges and training areas. Used to snake hunt the hills of Tierrasanta as well. Caught my largest Mojave there. Beer battered and deep fried was my favorite. I only got sick once. Went against my policy of never accepting snake meat from anyone I didn't see harvest. I paid for it. We harvested ours cleanly with a wire pole. I haven't had it since I transferred back to east coast. That was 1994.

We have friends who won't come in our house. Because of our pet snakes. We do have one venomous snake. It's a very mild venom. And it's rear fanged. It's just a baby now.
