Hi all. I recently acquired a Stevens/Savage 311E sxs 12ga and the right hammer will not cock. The left hammer cocks and that barrel fires no problem. Looking at pics of the internals on the web, it showed that the sear lengths were very close to being the same length, but on mine the right sear is about 3/8 inch shorter. I purchased a replacement used right sear on Numrich but it is the same length as the old one and the right hammer still will not cock. Do I possibly need a new hammer, or am I right to pursue a longer tight sear? Both hammers fold back, but only the left hammer stays cocked.
