#12 open Class

This is my #12. Target action single shot. Only the receiver is Savage.
Shillen 28" 1/7.5, 6Dasher
Mcmillan A3 stock
Rifle Basix trigger at 8oz
March 15-60x56 HM scope.

Alpha brass, Varget, Berger 105's. I'm getting 2900fps, 1/4 moa at 100, a little less than 1/2 moa at 600.

I won every club match in 2025.
Took 2nd at CMP Talladega in the fall classic.

This rifle shoots!

Nice rig.
I like those Shilen 28-inch barrels, but I have yet to find a soft case that fits mine in an Oryx chassis with 4 stock extender inserts.
Fortunately, the 416R bull barrel is so heavy that the front of my rifle tips the muzzle down so the rear of the stock won't fall out of the open back.

This is the one I am using, and it will fit with the butt extended and the Harris bipod still attached. the 52" model.

Here's another good option. They last for years too. I have 4 of them. I can put a 26" bull barreled varmint rifle with a 9" suppressor in it! Holds 2 rifles side by side too.

Thanks guys, I will measure and pick one of your recommendations that will fit. I was amazed how long my rifle turned with all four extenders.
My 26-inch barrels with the extenders barely fit in my long cases. Even in my longest case, the 28 hangs out the end.
