Hello, from the Missouri Ozarks, from a long time fan of the pre bankruptcy Savages. Once upon a time I collected shooter grade Model 1899 and 99s, having 54 of them about 35 years ago. That was a bit excessive, and only one remains, a 99R in 250-3000. A couple of dozen mule deer and many coyotes fell to this one when I lived out west.

There have as been many 325 and 340 family and some 110s, my favorite of which was a 110, serial number 32123, a 30-06. 32123 was a light weight rifle, even with a 4X Unertl scope and leather sling. It was stimulating to fire from a bench.

This looks like civil and friendly place.

As a Savage enthusiast, were you by any chance a member of the old Forum that was closed last year? This is the new Forum dedicated to our beloved Savage firearms. Many here have known one another online, for a number of years. Many really good individuals with years of firearms & shooting knowledge. Sounds like you have quite a bit of of experience & knowledge to share, yourself.👍

Welcome! With a 5-digit S/N that 30-06 was a pre-66 model, the Unertl must have been awesome. I have a pre-66 in 30-06, it is definitely stimulating to shoot from the bench. ;)

Yes, One-Ten, I was a member of the old forum, though seldom active. It is true that I have a lot of experience, but how much knowledge I gained from that could be open to dispute. It has all been great fun and the old forum is missed.

SevenFan, 32123 had a straight buttstock, is yours a Monte Carlo?

Frontiersman, thank you for your generous comment. As much as I am comfortable with what I like, it would be nice to possess the sense to hang on to rifles like 32123.
