Yes, Long Actions have always been the same screw spacing. It’s never changed. And while yes, some do require machining, some do not. I know that there are cases where they simply popped off the mag box & used it in the Centerfeed Stock they chose. However, yes, I understand your limitations and actually wasn’t instructing you to do so. Simply stating my thoughts for posterity sake.From some quick research, it looks like the action screw spacing would be the same, however it would require milling out more of a relief in the action to create space to insert the magazine. That would be a little more invasive than I think I want to get. With the equipment I have available.
Your best bet is to go with a Staggerfeed blind mag, from Boyd’s. as your rifle is already using a trap door, it appears?
