I only took sighter rounds out today. My last 5 rounds for each at 100 yards. 140 grain Midway USA target bullets. They don't tell you the brand. 27 grains of TAC. COAL 2.270. The Ruger no feed issues. And it grouped better than video reviews i watched. Im glad i got out. Been lacking on energy.

Way to go Howa! 👍
I came so close to going with a Howa. But I’m a Savage 110 shooter, through & through. Still though. For years I’ve wanted to get my hands on one to do a trigger job. I really like their HACT trigger design and am confident I could make it a GEM!😉 Maybe one day I still gone. Wii hi o knows.

But anyway, looks like yours is going to be nice shootin’ Rig. 😊

Im just going to put a lighter spring in. I did trim the one in the 6.5 Grendel. It bought it down to just below 2lb pull. The 22-250 is at 2.5 lbs no trim. I found lighter springs in my assortment of the same width as the stock springs.

Yeah, I was gonna recommend that. I always opt for replacing the spring for a lighter one, over cutting coils. The spring should be close to the same size as the original. As it does better with the same preload. It should just be lighter gauge wire. Cutting a spring to make it shorter, only changes the spring rate, not the spring force.

That's good to note on replacing with lighter coils than just cutting the original.

I was just looking at your thread title. At the end, you should have titled the thread “It’s so Howa WOW-W!”
Get it? 🤭

That’s what I woulda done, tell you what!😎
