Axis differences

I was looking for a right handed rifle to use as a loaner rifle when relatives come up to hunt. The Axis rifles seem to be really cheap here.

Physically, what are the differences in the Axis actions versus the 110 actions?
Are any of the parts interchangeable?
Do any 10 or 110 stocks interchange?
Does an action wrench for a 10/110 work on the Axis?

I believe the stocks do not interchange, the action screw spacing is different and the recoil lug system is not compatible. All of the axis I've seen have a long action design with different pieces that slide into the bottom of the stock like bottom metal to make them long or short action. The receiver and bolt are different, the receiver has a recoil lug cast into it as opposed to the regular style on a 110 series. The barrel/barrel nut threads are the same so barrels and wrenches are compatible.

They're good as what they are, I've had a few and didn't expect too much out of them so was happy.

What Mattri said is basically all correct. However, the Axis Recoil Lug isn’t actually part of the Receiver. It’s an Insert that sits in Stock, and the Axis Receiver is machined at the lower front, to fit over the Lug.




The Axis uses a the same Small Shank Barrel & Barrel Nut as the Small Shank 110.
It also uses the same Short Action Bolt Head as the 110.

That is all. Small Shank Barrel, B. But & Short Action Bolt Head. Everything else is different between them.

That's right! For some reason I was picturing the lug in the receiver, not the stock.

My 110 is different. It has the built is chasses They call it an accustock.

Yeah, while I’m not a fan of the Accustock, it’s honestly a very well thought out & great performing stock. I think they should have kept it more classic looking though. The looks are either love it or hate it. Unfortunately, I hate how they look. Although, I’m not o part of the Stock market anyway. I refer the aesthetics of an Aluminum Chassis with a piston grip.
