Finally back to the loading bench.

After a few months of not being able to feel brass in my fingers, it's starting to come back 1 and 5 weeks after surgery for carpel tunnel. Doing a bunch of .223 Lapua once fired and chamber formed. Neck sizing, mandrel setting neck tension, primer pocket scrub, neck brush and flash hole uniforming. Only did 50 so far this morning with another couple hundred on the que for today. Raining cats and dogs outside so it a super time to get onto the brass. Whatta Hobby!

It's incredible how carpal tunnel surgery has advanced. I had my right side done years ago. Then my left a year or 2 ago. The recovery was much quicker. I didn't even have a brace. The same surgeon put a joint in my middle finger too for me. They wanted to fuse it. I said no. I need the mobility. I was his 1st replacement patient. He also released my thumb tendon too. I love the doc. My left shoulder will be next. I have arthritics in it. It's making grinding sounds. And side lateral movement is painful. I see him in July about it.

Good recovery. Glad you're back at it and hope it gets better as you continue. That's still a good amount of work. I guess it's muscle memory.

It just dawned on me....this is NF1E from a few other forums I used to frequent quite a bit!.........this guy is legit and has some M1A builds to die for......and his rimfire pursuits....and his Hawaii travels.....dang!

Glad to hear you’re recovering nicely. I have had both of my hands done as well, although it was 20 years ago when the recovery was like 6-8 weeks minimum per hand.
No better way to test your hands out than prepping and loading up some 223…lol

My wife goes tomorrow to have her hard cast removed after thumb surgery where they removed a bone from her right thumb and replaced it with a tendon. Unknown what PT will bring or how long before she will hold a pistol again.

Very pleased to hear recovery is going well! Stretched patience?

THAT is the most insane primer I’ve ever seen! Does it like, give you a massage or anything?

Here, all these years I thought my Lyman hand primer was pretty awesome. NOW it just feels so…, inadequate!

Used hand primers for 60 years and had to go to bench units some time ago when the hands gave out.
Yep, that Primal Rights is a monster but does a wonderful job. Whatta Hobby!

I hear ya, but I’m cheap though & not about to spend $6-Bones on a priming tool! If hand troubles, become a problem, I’ll mount & secure my Lyman primer in a fixture, secure a lever to the hand pump & mount it to the bench. It’s be ugly, but I bet it would still work effortlessly.

We all have choices my friend. I did experiment with many other primer presses before settling on the Primal Rights.

After 60 plus years of loading, it amazes me how much stuff has accumulated. Luckily I have a son in his late 50s that has been enjoying my spare equipment.

Thanks for the edit. Anyone can get a bit carried away with an opinion. Being banned is a badge of courage from some forums. Whatta Hobby!
