Never really cared for the Winchester or Marlin lever guns, but the Savage 1899/99 always felt "just right."
Had 4 at one point....

99E in .243. Sold this one to my buddy in Hawaii so it could actually do some hunting. 😊

An absolutely immaculate .308 99F I stumbled across a couple months ago.

Also had a .30-30 Takedown during Covid, but couldn't find a lick of ammo for it at the time. Sold it before I could shoot it....😢
 
The 99 has always been a robust lever action, and has a great following. A friend had one in 300 Savage, I got to shoot it a few times. It was a pretty accurate rifle for a lever action.
