Been awhile since the Savage Shooters forum faded into the sunset and I'm appreciative that a new forum was started to give old and new brothers of the barrel nut a place to gather and share knowledge.

Hello Don Dunlap here. I've been shooting Savage rifles for years. I seen over on Accurate Shooter that this site was started and figured I'd join.

Hello from one of the new guys who got started here.

For those of us who don't know you, what kinds of Savages are your favorite?

I've owned, built and customized every model of savage rifle since I started my firearm journey with them 40+ years ago because Savage was the only left hand rifle I could afford.
I've have and have had many custom rifles from other manufacturers and builders, but Savage will always have a place in my heart till I'm gone from this earth.
My latest Savage fixation is with the Impulse line, with extreme prejudice towards the Predator model being I'm a predator hunter.
Ambi Straight pull, AICS Magazines, Fixed ejector and cartridge swapping capability with pre headspaced barrels.
The impulse line of rifles has brought Savage into the 21st century in a big way and it would be nice to see a sub forum for the Impulse models.

Like others, I read about it on the Accurate shooter forum, but didn't have the time to check out this new forum until recently.

We’re gonna make this one better than the last! Out with old in with the new! We MUST make it better! Seriously, if I showed you some a post from there (I had saved some for posterity sake of what NOT to do.), of how the Admin would speak to me, IN A THREAD… cursing me, belittling me in front of everyone! He also let the moderators do the same to me. And of course I couldn’t say a single thing back or I would have been banned immediately! It was disgusting! I think you’d be wide eyed to say the least, if you saw some.

I truly hope we never see anything like that here. And I don’t believe we will. Membership is coming soon
