I see that Savage is introducing a 22RF in the 110 Series. Any chance they will build a 17 WSM and 17 HMR in the same platform.

That is a big negative, my friend! What you may have seen was speculative talk on the “Face Page” (as I call it), about a make believe 110RF. However, no such rifle exists. I believe it came from this, which is actually a FAKE listing, and likely a SCAM website!

To my knowledge, there have not been, nor likely ever will be talk of a 110 in Rimfire. (EDIT) With the number of Rimfire rifles already offered and the history of the 110, Savage would not be wise crossing the two.

A teaser on the Savage site at Savagearms.com might be the reason for the speculation.
They claim something for the 110 is coming but don't give many details.
They never mention anything about a rimfire version.

Wow , quite the negative response. Where I saw it was on other forums. Dumb idea ????? I'm not interested in the 22 LR , but what does interest me is a platform to build a better 17 WSM than the Bmag. Dumb idea, that's a matter of opinion. There are some custom builders that have turned the 17 WSM into less than a .50 moa critter getter, but the cost is preventative($3000-5000). Have a wonderful day.

Alguapo,
Actually, I also would be interested in a more accurate rimfire rifle than Savage has been producing.
I have 7 rimfire target rifles, including three that cost well over $1,000 many years ago.
But, given Savage's recent emphasis on budget friendly Axis models over the Model 12 target rifles, I wouldn't expect them to move away from the budget rimfires that they are currently producing.

We can hope, but I don't think it will be in the cards.

Oh, I didn’t mean that as negatively towards you Alguapo. I apologize. I didn’t mean it was dumb for you implying. I meant dumb on Savage’s part of they were to do that.

But how I typed it came out sounding wrong. Again, my apologies. I’m editing that as it certainly was not my intention partner. 😊 There is never any ideas of talking about Savage that are dumb. Just the Savage company has been known for some dumb decisions over the years.

Well, although there nothing on Savage’s site, or in the US market, there is this video circulating. So I guess maybe for the European market?

I don’t get it. The 110 is the wrong action for Rim Fire. 🤔

The speaker indicated that the bolt pull distance on the 110 rimfire can be adjusted for training so the short pull of a .22LR wouldn't cause problems when the trainee went back to using centerfire.
Seems like that training feature, which may be a strong emphasis in the European market to save money on CF ammo when training, could be the driver for a rimfire 110 configuration.
Using an AICS mag for a .22LR is allows use of 110 features with retooling costs about the same as for different CF calibers. Sort of overkill but practical in keeping retooling costs down.
I trained my grand kids with .22LRs and they didn't seem to have a problem with short stroking the bolts on centerfires.
Not sure if that feature will be a big selling point in the US.

Are you referring to something like those 22LR Conversion kits for the AR15, CF? Yes, that might be it. Although, it would only work in barrels chambered for .224” bore Centerfire cartridges. Even then though, I can’t see how, as the bolt would need to be set up for the exact 22 Centerfire cartridge being used by the shooter. Those kits are only available for 223/5.56 AR15’s. But in a Savage. One might have 223, 22-250, 22 Creedmoor, 22 ARC, etc. And even then, the rifles images in that video have a much smaller Ejection Port than the standard Short Action receiver. (Images below) Just a lot of questions here.

110 Short Action (TrailHunter)

In the video, the Savage rep pointed to what looked like an adjustment feature on the bolt stem near the bolt handle and said it could be adjusted to lengthen the bolt movement so that when training with .22LRs, the shooter wouldn't be training to learn a short stroke. He didn't show any close ups so there is no way to tell how it is supposed to work.

Rimfires work fine on a 110 based action. I know for a fact as I built the working prototype for that rifle 15 years ago.

It’s not online, but it is in their catalog. Who knows when it’s coming though🤔 But, apparantly it is coming to the US market.

They are offering it in 3-models, including a Precision. So, there ya go. I take back my initial post. (Not how I feel about it.. still think it’s a dumb idea… but, we know Savage is no stranger to THAT! LOL!) Alguapo, I already apologized, but once again, my apologies. 😊

Dual firing pins might eliminate misfires due to rimfire primer material not evenly distributed.
Good idea.
They even announced a precision version with a 1-4 lb. adjustable trigger.
The tactical and Magpul versions have a 1.5-4 lb adjustable trigger version.
The prices are a bit steep, though.

They did describe the adjustable pull length in the write-up.

Savage finally pulled their heads out where .22s are concerned. The 93s meant you were stuck with that inconsistent factory barrel. The 110 and barrel nut mean endless quality barrels are an easy change at home and the bolt in it is genius.
I just wish they'd build one in left hand.

Yes, that’s a bit odd because Savage has now made almost their whole 110 line Left Handed! They are the leading producer of Left Handed rifles there are, I believe. In fact, Savage is now the leading producer of rifle models…. PERIOD! No other manufacturer has so many different options. Not even Remington! (Go count.. and see.) And this new line of 110’s may have finally addressed Bolt Lift and the Accutrigger side load tripping. But the RF was just released. So give it some time, I bet they release it in LH also.

Well right now, the fact that it isnt is what is keeping me from writing a check for one.
