Savage Model 1899 in .303 Savage, circa 1903/04. I believe the front sight is a replacement.

There are often times I wish I was a collector. Unfortunately, in practice, I’m just too enamored with more modern aspects of firearms. However, many times in searching I find myself caught in nostalgia of older firearms. I have such an appreciation for, and love of studying firearms.

I received the factory letter today. This rifle shipped to Eugene A Fiske. It appears he was an attorney in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and so, a great shipping location to a prominent citizen of Santa Fe at the time.
