Not sure if either of these will fit, but it's worth checking out. I have the JARD on my model 10 & 110. They work very well and no issues. Bix'n Andy for the Savage was not available when I got the JARD. I will probably try a Bix'n Andy on another Savage I'm thinking about making.

I have replaced both my Savage accutriggers with a Timny trigger./

These are set up for benchrest shooting and have them set a 1 LB .

Works great.

The B&A Savage triggers is not getting rave reviews from what I've read. They won't go light enough for serious target work.
Just get the tried and true Rifle Basix. They do have a trigger for the early models. Call them to get the correct part number.
Then call NSS to order it cheaper.

I did a spring swap on my Stevens 86C today. The trigger pull averages 12.2 ounces out of 5 pulls. It cost me penny's to do it. I suggest you all get a nice spring assortment.

I have a custom setup Target Accutrigger. I’ve been an Accutrigger fan since they were released.

The problem with the Savage trigger is its limitations due to the Sear. Jard is the ONLY trigger manufacturer that has managed to create a unit with a new Sear. However, they have their own problems. All the other triggers use the factory Sear. And in do so, they are virtually all about the same.

The custom trigger market has become big $$. Triggers anywhere from $120 to over $300 these days. But back years ago, target triggers were weren’t purchased. They were set up by skilled gunsmiths who understood trigger operation through & through. I spent years & years honing the craft. Nothing wrong with buying drop in triggers. However, I like a great trigger & saving money. In fairness, I will say some of us were simply born to tinker with our firearms. We are natural builders, machinists, fabricators & craftsmen. And we can’t help but MUCK with every firearm we own! LOL! The Accutrigger lends itself well to that, just as the Savage 110 & Axis both do as well. But I do understand this is not in everyone’s forte.

Even if it’s a standard 2 or 3-screw trigger, any of the triggers mentioned will work on yours. However, don’t be so quick to toss your factory trigger. You’d be amazed what just a spring change or that & a bit of work over will do.

Dongle? You mean the Accutrigger Blade? If so, what don’t you like? Also, the blade can be removed & it becomes a regular trigger. Many Savage Shooters do that. I for one, like having blade. It reminds me a a 2-stage trigger and the added security is nice. When you start dealing with really light target triggers, any one of them can experience Sear follow upon closing the bolt.(Slam Fire) It’s just nature of the beast. With a regular trigger, it means the striker contacts the primer and sets off the round. But in the Accutrigger, it simply locks the trigger, requiring bolt actuation to reset. There is 100% NO WAY for an Accutrigger to have an unintentional discharge. However, I do understand shooters not liking the feel. That is a personal preference, obviously.

It’s really a strange term we don’t see often. But that actually is the correct term for it.

Yes, the Accutrigger minus the safety spade will not cause any problems so to speak. Nor does it cause any harm whatsoever to the firearm. For all intent & purpose, it’s no different than operating the firearm without the MAGAZINE, or BOLT KNOB, if so equipped. However, you are unlikely to find a single Accutrigger user who has NOT experienced the infamous “LOCKED” trigger. Noting the Sear followed the Bolt throw. That aside, it does not stop many, many people from doing so, regardless. With the Target Accutrigger, the Safety Blade spring is so light, it’s hardly noticed anyway. But still assures that added safety benefit.

Again, most shooters don’t discuss it, but unintentional discharges do happen from time to time, due to extremely light triggers and Sear dropping after bolt throw. Also known as a Slam Fire.

If Savage could come up with a better sear arrangement, they would be better than canned beer and sliced bread! If I was starting over, I would go with a Bighorn since it uses Savage barrels, the "nut" and is a 700 clone and only have 2 or 3 of them, instead of 7 110's.

You make some great points For some of us, it’s simply about the love for the Savage 110. And of course, as I’ve said before, I’m no competitor, shooting only for fun. However, yes, the Zermott TL3 with its Barrel nut Barrel, 700 footprint, integral Recoil Lug & Floating Bolt Head, is the ideal Action for serious work! They even have one that is Titanium! Yummy! But then, it wouldn’t be a Savage.

I love working those 3-screw Save triggers! Set up several of those for people. I also make lighter bar springs for them as well. (I send those to people for free.) Set up correctly, those 3-screw triggers can be great target triggers.
