Bottom bolt release rifles with floor plate magazine door

I bought 2 rifles 10 and 15 years ago with this magazine feature. The question is can I swap out the bottom metal and convert them to magazine fed versions? They are both bottom bolt release/center feed types.

Sure can. But it’s limited. If you want AICS mag, I believe this is the only one.

Or, the cheaper option is go with the Polymer type for Factory Savage Magazine. You have Long or Short Actions?

Basically you only need the factory magazine frame and a magazine bottom cap. You can re-use the mag box in the hinged floorplate.

This may be a dumb question; but for a hunting gun why do you need to reload a magazine fast?

I think that in my worst hunting situation, I've needed to shoot a third shot quickly once. That was a Gemsbok bull that my first bullet clipped a branch on and hit him in the brisket. Two more shots were taken on the run with a 300 grain bullet from my 375 H&H magnum.

Shootin’ wild hogs in the open, in Texas? That’d be a reason. But that’s why they usually use AR’s…. And a Helicopter!

Like I said, thank you to everyone for the info. To Fjord, I’m using the term quicker the same as easier and quieter when your loading up in a tree stand before dawn. I don’t want to fumble around with shells in the dark. Same for unloading. In my 40 years of hunting from a tree or on the ground I think I’ve only needed a follow up shot less than 3 times.

No limit on them. No tags required. They are such a problem, State Government actually condones killing them off. There really are WAY too many! They cause something like $1Billion+ in land owner & ecological damages annually!
