I’m glad to see a dedicated home for the savage collectors. It was the 99 that brought me to my first gun forum. I was with Savage Collectors when they migrated to 24 Campfire some 25? years ago. I had traded an old motorcycle for a 99 in 300. Brass and ammo were almost impossible to find. The gun was over loved so much it had been reblued and restocked with questionable skill and too much headspace. I had to start taking handloading seriously. It was my first hunting rifle yet again as I migrated with the military, this time to the N/W. They talked me through every process to get her up and hunting. A lot of those fine gentlemen have moved on to better hunting grounds, but I am still thankful for their shared wisdom. Gun forums like this one can be an important place.

Welcome aboard!
We're not all collectors. Many of us have very well used Savages.
I have 7 Savages and three of mine have had barrel replacements because they were so well used.
Two others are about at the point of needing replacements.
The beauty of Savages is that their barrels can be replaced so easily.
