Maine coon cats?

From the OP it sounds that way. Our coon hounds would change to their treeing bark. When the coon was treed. When they were running a coon they had a different bark. . We would try to follow the best we could.

Just a weird yolk guys. One of those days. Friend convinced me to shoot M-14 gi chrome lined standard barrel iron sight today with German surplus NATO ammo. Never know what might happen. Shot without glasses using .042 rear aperture at 100 yds. Whatta Hobby!

Well, anyway, I’ve never heard of using Main Coons to hunt with. Only Hounds. Sorry, but if using cars to hunt IS a practice in use, I’d have to give that a big THUMBS DOWN on the ethics vote. Regardless of their size, they are still domestic cats. The biggest Main Coons I’ve heard of are just over 30lbs. While the biggest Raccoons can get up to 35lbs! And while hunting hounds chase & TREE the raccoons, a Main Coon cat can follow right up the tree! And raccoons can downright VICIOUS when put to the test.

Nah… sorry. Gonna have to classify that one as Bad Form indeed!

Ha! I've been privy to Arts humor in the past.....got it right away...and he showed one of his fine M1A/M14 Builds!

If I recall correctly he was a USMC Air Winger.....Phantoms?....way before crayon eating so he is....legit sane.....;)

Coon Hunting, the kids had some high priced hounds and St Sandra and I used our 70 lb Airedale house dog. He was silent on the trail and would bark treed. Almost always caught one on the ground and brought it back to us and would tree 2-3 in an hour. Mom and Dad 3-4, Kids 0, but they drank more beer! Raggs, the Airedale, was a stone-cold impressive killer. One night he found a coon in a trap, killed it and pulled the stake and brough the whole works to us. We could hear him in the creek and it took him 10 or 15 minutes. Trap was trespassing and no name. DIL has a Maine Coon Cat, he is impressive too! No match for a 35 lb coon!
