It looks like you are moving toward lower recoil in your swaps. Also probably to achieve more accuracy potential.
Savage is also my choice for the ease of barrel change but also because I have never bought an inaccurate Savage rifle.
The stocks on the bargain models weren't always great, but they still shot accurately, at least until I really learned to shoot more accurately with the stocks that were more suited to my size. Then the cheap stocks were changed and the accuracy of those Savages improved even more.
I have 7 Savage actions and have used 8 Savage barrels and they all are accurate.
I recently installed two Shilen barrels in my two most used Savages that got close to their limits and the accuracy improved a bit more.
I had some problems getting the first barrel off - it takes some hands-on experimentation to get the knack.
It took only 30 minutes to install the second Shilen.
