I am a savage fan because of the barrel change capability and I also like the accutriggers. My first 10PC IN 308 is now a tac driving 243 wearing a thumb hole stock with a bolt lift kit. This second model 10 in 308 will be a 6mm arc next week. Thanks for allowing me in the forum.

It looks like you are moving toward lower recoil in your swaps. Also probably to achieve more accuracy potential.

Savage is also my choice for the ease of barrel change but also because I have never bought an inaccurate Savage rifle.
The stocks on the bargain models weren't always great, but they still shot accurately, at least until I really learned to shoot more accurately with the stocks that were more suited to my size. Then the cheap stocks were changed and the accuracy of those Savages improved even more.

I have 7 Savage actions and have used 8 Savage barrels and they all are accurate.
I recently installed two Shilen barrels in my two most used Savages that got close to their limits and the accuracy improved a bit more.
I had some problems getting the first barrel off - it takes some hands-on experimentation to get the knack.
It took only 30 minutes to install the second Shilen.

Well I got the barrel on and went for a sight in and when it wouldn’t fully eject a spent round, I realized I needed a PRC bolt face. Ordered one from Pacific Tool & Gauge and still waiting. Will post pics of targets if it shoots like I think it will.

You likely already know, but just in case: make sure to check your headspace again with the new Bolt head.

Yes I am aware that needs done. I was thinking of putting another scope on there if I have to adjust the headspace. The only one I had that was right for that gun is Mil Dot and I am so used to MOA now it’s hard to get my mind in that mode.
