Older 110 Schematic

I found a copy of the 1972 NRA Guidebook to Shoulder Arms Firearms Assembly online so I ordered one. Do you know if it has the actual part numbers in it? Specifically I'm looking for parts specific to a 7mm mag for a 110L left hand made in 1959.

I don’t think that it would have the Savage part numbers in it but Numrich Arms has schematics and a list of the parts that they sell.

I agree. The pre-66 110s were unique unto themselves. Numrich is your best bet.

I was wondering specifically if there was a different magazine box for the magnum calibers like 7mm Rem Mag, and if so, what its part number is? The magazine box for the 1959 thru 1966? had the tabs on the back for latch and ejector (parts 30, 31 and 32) in the image below.

I've never seen part # assigned to the first gen rifles, other that the number in the schematic followed by a description such as left hand, or short action.
Unfortunately, I have very few first gen parts at all. I haven't worked on many first gen guns to even document some of the features or differences, but the majority of the ones I have worked on all seemed to be lefties, for some odd reason.
They only made like 50 some odd thousand of these, so parts are gonna be like chicken lips. Even if you can't find a magnum magazine, I would still try to make a 30-06 mag work if you find one of them.

The magnum calibers in the 110 didn't appear until mid-year 1962. I printed a copy of the 1961 Savage catalog from SavageShooters before the site shut down. The only 110 calibers offered in 1961 were 30-06 & .270 in long action and .243 & .308 in short action.

The barrel stamp is comprised of 2 digits (inspector's stamp) and a letter. The letter is the year code, what is yours?

Barrel code W would mean date of manufacture was 1969.

Thanks for the info. My rifle has the older ejector, not the plunger style. This was supposedly a design change around 1966 so perhaps mine has a newer 1969 barrel?

Sounds to be an odd arrangement of parts. Theoretically a 66 and later barrel should not work with a pre-66 action due to the shrouded bolt head which also required a recess in the chamber.

It definitely has the shrouded bolt head. I've pulled the barrel and of course it has the counterbore for the shrouded bolt head. It also has the magazine box with the tabs shown in my earlier post.
