Savage striker in 243 any advise?

Yes 16 for a rifle. I do have a 16 inch 22 pistol.

Thanks for the info on the Striker. I didn't even know that Savage made a bolt action pistol, ala Rem XP100 - thats cool.
But regarding a muzzle brake, I have found them awful in use. My old "M4" came with one, and after a few shots, nobody else was standing around anymore and I found it offensive shooting it. I had it replaced by a traditional flash hider that turned it into a favorite shooter. Seriously, whats the point for a MB on a 556 anyways? Or even a 243? I'll personally never have a firearm with a MB on it again.
Thread that 243 and put a can on it....

I hunt alone and need to be able to see my hits and misses. I have a muzzle brake on a .20 VT & .20 Practical with a muzzle brake on each. The muzzle brake allows me to see my hits and misses through the scope.

The advantage with savage is : got slightly us rifle barrel cut it down get some headspace gauges and wrench it together. Easier than an xp-100 or a weatherby. But of course I am preaching to the choir here. Thank you for the input. When I get it together heading out to the range and see if I can hit the 700yd gong.

Was able to hit the 500yd gong several times. 85gr sierra pushed 4064 powder.
Took out 6mm creedmoor hit the 700yd several times. Wind started up but I think I was successful.

🤣 I started reading this thread and seeing the old “must be 16 to be legal” argument. LOL! Gotta read everything my friends. First thing, if anyone doesn’t know what a Savage Stryker is, they should certainly educate themselves.

That’s a heck of a Pistol barrel though, even at 15”. Like the pistol Jack Nicholson uses as Joker in the ‘89 Batman movie.

I've shot the Striker several times, but never bought one. However, when the Savage 110 PCS came out, I bought one in .223. Sold the barrel and put a 15" X-Caliber barrel on it chambered in .20 Practical. Very accurate. My longest kill shot on a prairie dog is around 350 yds +-.

FIFY ;)

THAT’S your addition to this??🫤

Well, thank you ever so much for that. I’m sure it will benefit GENERATIONS of new, inexperienced enthusiasts to come! 🙄
Says the man who said people need to "educate themselves"....
