Guys I’ve been looking & looking.. watching as many vids as I can find. I think Savage may have FINALLY addressed the long term, pain in the BUTT problem of heavy Bolt Lift! Something we’ve had to figure out fixes on our on, or just put up with , for decades! We’ve been screaming at Savage to fix this at the factory, since as long as it’s been a problem, and they’ve ignored us. Until now it would seem.

The new “Core” series of 110s look like they don’t suffer and are quite smooth. Take a look for yourself in this video. I mean, that bolt looks & sounds incredibly smooth. He’s putting no effort in the lift, and racking a new round seems to chamber effortlessly. I’m looking more & more at picking up one of these Actions.

Very well worked over 110s and those which are modified won’t have significant Bolt Lift. And it is different with each new rifle. However, excessive bolt lift has plagued these rifles forever. If you really don’t get it, you’ve either been extremely lucky in getting yours, or you have no basis for comparison.

In any case, the rifle in the video both looked and sounded extremely smooth. He was flipping up the bolt basically with one finger & no hold down of the rifle. Anyone who doubt it, I invite you to make a video doing the same with your 110 and compare. I made a video like this years ago, showing how light the Bolt Lift can be with some modification. But even mine did not sound the same as this new 110, although the bolt could be lifted with one finger after firing.

Here’s my video. And again, this is after quite a bit of modification done. Compare the two videos and they are close, sure. But his is a brand new gun with nothing done to it.

Yes, and any custom Action works much better than a Bergara. There is always “better” in some other brand. That’s not what this thread is about.
It’s strictly about Savage finally addressing a known issue.
