I have been searching the web for a magazine for a new Savage 110 Trail Hunter in 30-06. It's got the green hogue over molded stock. The magazine are plastic.

I cannot find them anywhere. I haven't reached out to Savage yet, but I have looked on their website.

Does anyone know of a regular 110 magazine will work with the Trail hunter?

That's a new style of latch, I think. Does it have a spring loaded plunger on the front?

I believe the Trail Hunter has a new kind of latch. It's best described as a plunger at the front of the mag base plate.

I think most Savage magazines are modular. The box and base plate can be changed out. You might be able to change out the base plate on an older mag.

I emailed Savage about the same thing, they replied that for the .308 Trail Hunter

I responded that the magazine 55262 picture in the catalog looks nothing like what came with my rifle... she said the picture has not been updated. I didn't feel comfortable with that so didn't order. Maybe she is correct?

That picture looks like an AICS mag. She may have selected the wrong picture and, to me, it looks like a short action AICS mag for a .223 instead of a long action AICS mag used in the .30-06.
That picture would be more appropriate for the Precision 110 and Axis short action rifles with MDT chassis that use AICS Mags.
I have a MDT plastic AICS Mag on my .223 Savage 12 FV that I converted to a MDT Oryx and then the MDT LSS XL chassis.
The plastic mag has over 10,500 rounds shot using it with the MDT Oryx chassis and LSS chassis and I have never had any problems with it.

I would presume the new Savage factory chassis might have a different mag, although I have never handled one.

In any case, I wouldn't be concerned with a plastic mag, even with a 30-06, unless you have a history of damaging mags.

I thought the same thing, that's why I didn't purchase it.
