BEST SHOTGUN GUNSMITH

I suggest calling some gun shops in your area. And get some recommendations.
I have. The issue is the Gunsmith is never in. For whatever reason, they are never there. Makes me wonder how good they really are. I am going try the shotgun club near me. Hope the can recommend someone.
I want to send it to someone familiar with the old Savage Shotguns. This thing probably hadn't been cleaned in years. We did clean it, but not a deep cleaning. Then my buddy tried to shoot it, and it jammed. It was a disaster. I took it apart and now I want to get it back in working condition. Probably missing parts. I am going to dig it out of the safe. I will send pictures tonight or tomorrow.
I do not. I am going to try the Shotgun club over here this weekend. Hopefully there is an Ole' timer there that can help. If not, I will contact Savage and ask them.
Rigt, they probably can recommend one closest.
Numrich has parts and diagrams. Since you have it apart. You can check your parts. against the diagram.

Yessir! You have one of those engraved model 720’s with the Vent-Rib muzzle brake. Very cool.
If I could see it shoot, I could likely help you diagnose the problem. First thing I’d do is what you are already doing here. Take it completely apart. Stripped all the way down. Extreme clean every part & inspect for rust/damage anywhere. Lubricate moving parts well and reassemble. Then try again.

Looks like the old Cutts Compensator........they came with Poly Chokes also.
