Savage 110 Muzzle brake removal

Hey everyone. I just picked up my new 110 Switchback in 7mm Rem mag - got it on a good sale; and saw that it was threaded. I will use it with a suppressor.
When I got it home I noticed it has a brake on it. Pic attached.
How do I unscrew it? There are no flats on it, but it appears I may need to find a large star bit for the muzzle? Or a small screw driver through the ports? Or?

I'm thinking it probably isn't pinned or roscksett'd in place? Pardon the possibly naive question, but I have simply spun them off a couple of AR's in the past. I don't want to mess anything up.

I've never posted pics on a forum so I'm hoping this works....

Hmm maybe a spanner wrench? Or a big torx bit?

Use a few small Allen wrenches through the vent holes of both sides, to turn. Maybe 3/16”, 5/32?

Strap wrench? Could be rocksette'd. Overnight in a cup of water worked for me.

It likely has threadlocker on the threads so I would apply heat before attempting removal. I agree with others that tools through the vent holes is a good approach.
Additionally, the flats in the opening appears to form a 6 sided hexagon that may accept a large hex key. If you do try it make sure the hex key is a tight fit.

I'm going to call Savage on Monday and see what they say. BTW, a T60 torx bit fits the muzzle brake perfectly.
I've been busy today collecting some pieces and putting together a 25-06 on an Axis.

Savage won’t have any information for except, “feel free to send it to us.” Honestly pard, they are there to help DIY’rs. Pickin’ up what I’m puttin’ down?

If the T60 works, I’d give it a try. You’ll know immediately if it’s thread locked or silver soldered. It just won’t turn is all.

Just a quick follow-up to close the loop. As 110 noted above, Savage customer service was nice, but they wanted me to send it in. I had some hardwood laying around so I tried to make my own barrel vice with my large bench vice, but my solution didn't work. I didn't feel the need to buy a dedicated barrel vice yet. A buddy had one, but it was packed up and I didn't feel the need for him to unpack it for me.
I ended up taking it to a local shop, and with my T60 wrench the young man laughingly said it "spun off easily". I was at the counter for about 10 minutes. Charged me $15.
I'm writing this on my PC and not my phone (no pics) but there was some/very very little) light colored residue on the shoulder side of the threads. The can spun on easily.

Its all now mounted on its MDT LSS Gen 3 chassis.

Quick note: because you already have a Bench Vice, you can have a quick, inexpensive Barrel Vice that take up NO space, with a set of these.

110 - Thanks. I have a "hard rubber" set like that and have seen those aluminum versions. But how do you compensate for the barrel contour? They say its soft aluminum, but how do you make the barrel safe from wear marks, etc? My Youtube google fu always comes up short.
I'm not sure I'd feel comfortable in simply cranking down on my barrel with that.

Thompson Center screw choke wrench fits these perfectly. That's what I use.

Also just had to follow this as I too have a Switchback with that same break and wanted to remove it.
