When I was looking to build my bench gun over a decade ago, the Tikka was high on my list. I was taken with how everyone talked about the incredible Smooovy-Ness of the Action. “They are just SO SMOOVE!” In the end, I stuck with Savage because I’ve always been a Savage 110 shooter. And the more the researched the Tikka, the more I came to find out, “smoothness”, is about all they have. They really aren’t considered among the more accurate. And they are kinda weird looking. I’m not fond of the integrated rail slots. Like, if you’re gonna do an integrated rail, make it Picatinny! Don’t try to be a hero, eh?

But hey, they shoot decent. And they work well from all accounts. So, to each their own.

Bolt on my Bergara is real nice and smooth.

Sako and Tikka do have the smoothest operating bolts of any factory rifle. I'm just not into their plastic magazines, besides they are very pricey.
I've heard that they also have the Savage's big brother gorilla that torques their barrels to the actions.

I currently have two, .308 and .22-250. Altogether i have had six of them and have loved every one. Mine are all very accurate, the triggers break cleanly at just under three pounds. True, i'm not a fan of the plastic magazines, but i have also never had any issues with any of them.
Two that i no longer have became gifts to family, and two were sold at a tidy profit. I did replace the synthetic stock on one with a Boyd laminated stock, and while i loved the look, the wrist was just too big, so i painted the synthetic stock a light brown and put it back on.

Haven't tried but I felt like the price for accessories are too much.

I love them. Currently have (2) 30.06's, (1) .308, and (1) 270WM. These guns are very accurate. I have a Boyds stock on the 308 and it made the gun better.

The feature I do not care for is the magazine. The all plastic mag is weird to me.

To be honest, I just love shooting. I am not even good at it, but I love it.

I don’t mind firearms that are from another country because everything is so intertwined now. Think of it like this: Tikka rifles are made by Sako. Sako is owned by Beretta and although Beretta is originally an Italian company, there is Beretta USA in Gellatin, USA. So, it’s all mixed together for the most part.

However, I have been proud for many years that Savage has the oldest continuously produced rifle in the US. The Savage 110 unseated the Winchester Model 70 some years back, when the Model 70 production ceased. The Savage 110 absolutely is

I think having an open market dynamics for firearms in the country allowed for great driver of firearm innovation and quality control. It's one of our advantages.
