MK II & Model 93 Magazine Question

I noticed that Csspec magazines have a good reputation and when I searched the Csspec website, I find they make magazines for MK II rifles but do not list Model 93 rifle magazines. Are the magazines interchangeable, the same, that is, will a MK II magazine fit a Model 93 and will a Model 93 magazine fit a MK II?

I speculate not but if so, I will order a spare magazine from Csspec. If there is no interchangeability between the two, does anyone know of an aftermarket Model 93 magazine which might not be as loose a fit as the factory 5-round magazine delivered with the rifle.

Good question. My 93 is a 17 HMR. And my MK 2'S. Are 22 lr. So i can't check.

I don't believe the two are interchangeable. The MK II mag tubes are curved whereas the model 93 mag tubes are straight.

Thank you for your response. Actually, I anticipated that would be the case.

In any event, the Csspec magazines for MK II rifles are only offered in .22 LR and no magazines for Model 30 series rifles are offered so it is a moot point as far as aftermarket Csspec magazines for my Model 30.

Since aftermarket magazines don't seem to be a viable option, I might experiment with improving the magazine I have. I have found a number of on-line videos which offer various remedies for Savage rimfire rifle magazines and I think the fix most likely to succeed or at least the first step I will take is to compress the guides on the rear of the magazine. However, I have not found a video which actually shows the process. Specifically, are the guides compressed from side to side or are they compressed from front to rear, what tools are used (slip joint pliers, channel lock pliers, vice grip pliers, a bench vise, a hammer and a brass drift or ?), how much compression is adequate?

Guidance from the forum members is appreciated.
