Question about Nightforce Reticle

Wondering if anyone is using a Nightforce scope with their Mil-C Reticle. I’m curious, and looking at their new line. But I’m not sold on their reticle options. My 2 choices are the Mil-C & Mil-XT. The XT just looks crowded. The C looks a bit “scrunched” up actually. But on paper it looks the better of the two. I don’t know. Anyway, just wondering people opinion who are using them. Pictures of the two below.

I find those reticles distracting for target shooting. I use the NP2DD reticles - simple and easy to get the reticle right on the POA.
If I was shooting at varying distances, or hunting from a blind or a spot where I had ranged a lot of different locations, those reticles would be very valuable in adjusting the POA quickly.
Wind adjustments would still be a guess, I suppose, since wind is rarely consistent over long distances and is more impacting closer to the target when the bullet velocity is decreasing. And that is exactly where you can't measure in advance.

The NP2DD reminds me of a reticle for a Prism sight. Similar to what I use on my AR/AK.


But I do prefer some type of cross bars with hash marks for a long range reticle. Allows the shooter to range their target without laser range finder. They do look different when viewed on ACTUAL scenery, vs the picture on screen. Here’s an outside view of the Mil-XT.

In any case, I’m looking at the Nightforce NX6 5-30x56. It’s still way above my settled price point for a scape, but, eh.. Who knows.

Well, I don’t like them too, too crazy. But the more I’m seeing the Mil-XT, Christmas Tree style reticle, the more I like it. Again, it looks bad in just the WHITE background picture, but pictures of it actually viewed in the outdoors against real background, it looks good.

I’ve been using the GENIIXR reticle for years. And I really like it. But honestly, I’ve wanted a cross-Dot reticle reticle for quite some time. So if’n I jump, I believe that will be the one. This NX6 looks really good. I like that they did away with the 3-Allen dog screws for the Turret retention. (Always hated those!) Many scopes use the single top flat head screw, which is nice. (My USO uses that style.) But the NS6 Turrets use an even better system. 14.9” long, which isn’t too bad. Not to mention over 120MOA (34.9MIL) Elevation. And of course, the legendary Nightforce toughness & longevity. Nightforce scopes are known to have the LEAST amount of problems. For $2100, it’s a great scope. Probably a bit cheaper in time, being it’s new 2026.
